A mixed sky through the night, with almost no wind to speak of with the barometer flat. The fish at Lac Methot are likely to sit near the shallows early and the drop later. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

You will find Lac Methot in Côte-Nord, Quebec. It lies 454 metres above sea level. The town to know is Forestville, 46 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 142 km distant. More in the same country: Lac Romeo roughly 1 km, Lac Miroir about 1 km, Lac du Granite roughly 1.8 km, Lac Piche about 2 km and Petit lac du Granite roughly 2.3 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac Methot fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -18°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. At Lac Methot the season follows that pattern closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac Romeo, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Lac Methot locally before you travel.
