Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a gentle ripple from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Lac Mas along windblown banks where food collects. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Côte-Nord, Quebec, is where Lac Mas sits. It sits in taiga country. At 2 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is a small entry by Côte-Nord standards. The town to know is Port-Cartier, 35 km out. Beyond it, Saint-Alexandre at 36 km and Sept-Îles at 36 km. Round about: Lac Goliat 1.6 km away, Lac Chicot some 1.6 km off, Lac Arne 2.4 km away, Lac Blaney some 2.6 km off and Lac Brule 2.9 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Côte-Nord list logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Take Lac Mas a stretch at a time.
Climate records put July near 15°C and January near -17°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around mid May. The season between ice runs from about mid May to early November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Mas.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac Goliat, 1.6 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Mas in what we hold.
