Bands of rain crossing through the day, with light air out of the SSW with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Marsoui along reed fringes and open pockets. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Quebec, Lac Marsoui falls inside Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine. The coast is 17 km away. The water covers some 35 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The whole outline is near 3.8 km, and most of it is walkable. Few waters listed in Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine are bigger. Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is the closest place, 34 km off. For a city, Saguenay is 376 km off. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine include American eel, striped bass, alewife, rainbow smelt and brook trout. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Take Lac Marsoui a stretch at a time.
Climate records put July near 15°C and January near -15°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid May and starts locking again about early November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Lac Marsoui fishes to that pattern most years.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Should this one be busy, Lac an Oscar is 1.1 km off. Treat Lac Marsoui as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
