Scattered cloud dimming the moonlight, with a light SSW breeze and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Marle should be near the shallows early and the drop later. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Set in Outaouais, Quebec, this is Lac Marle. Around the bank it is pine and birch. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. Saint-Raphaël sits 33 km from the bank. The big place round here is Gatineau, 72 km distant. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Marle the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Averages here run 19°C at the top of summer and -13°C at the bottom of winter. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. On Lac Marle that shapes the whole year.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. The nearest alternative is Lac Earley, 3.1 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Marle in what we hold.
