A grey, even sky over the water, with mild air moving in from the S and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac Marie-Louise along the weed line and any gaps in it. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Marie-Louise stands in Laurentides, Quebec. The bank is 257 metres above sea level. At about 65 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Some 5.4 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Size puts it in the front rank of our Laurentides list. Nearest place of any size is Ferme-Neuve, 17 km away. For a city, Orléans is 144 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Marie-Louise repays a walk before the first cast.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -15°C on the long-run figures. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. On Lac Marie-Louise that shapes the whole year.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is a pier recorded roughly 890 m away. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Sarrazin sits 1.2 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac Marie-Louise in what we hold.
