Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with a light SSW breeze with the barometer flat. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Marie. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Marie is an Outaouais water, Quebec side. Elevation runs to 237 metres. The water covers some 39 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. A shoreline of some 4.4 km keeps the choices simple. Size puts it in the front rank of our Outaouais list. Saint-Boniface lies 18 km from the water. Maniwaki follows at 19 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 26 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Marie repays a walk before the first cast.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -14°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Plan around that when you fish Lac Marie.
Access is not recorded for this water. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Muff, 1.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lac Marie carry more weight than any list.
