Rain on and off through the day, with stillness over the whole water with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Marc should be near the shallows early and the drop later. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies.

Set in Côte-Nord, Lac Marc is a Quebec water. The bank is 341 metres above sea level. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. The closest town, Forestville, is 47 km distant. Betsiamites follows at 56 km, then Chute-aux-Outardes at 71 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Marc the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Seasonal averages run from -18°C in January up to 16°C in July. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Lac Marc runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Luculus, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Ask locally about Lac Marc if anything is unclear.
