Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a gentle ripple from the WSW with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Manda should be near the first drop-off and weed lines. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac Manda. It lies 480 metres above sea level. At 7 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Most waters listed here for Côte-Nord are larger. The nearest place of any size is Forestville, 100 km away. Saint-Honoré is 114 km away, with Saint-Fulgence at 114 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Manda a short move beats a long cast.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near mid May. Break-up sits around mid May on average, with the water closing again about early November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. It holds true on Lac Manda more years than not.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Failing this one, try Lac Pilou, 1.1 km away. Confirm access to Lac Manda locally before you travel.
