Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with mild air moving in from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Lac Magog should fish best around the margins and the shelf beyond them today. The productive run goes night into morning. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Estrie in Quebec is where Lac Magog sits. It stands 189 metres above sea level. At roughly 11.15 sq km it ranks among the larger waters in the region. The outline measures near 60 km, so a boat opens up water the bank never reaches. On our Estrie list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Rock Forest is 7 km out. Magog follows at 9.3 km, then Ayer's Cliff at 15 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name rainbow trout, white sucker and pumpkinseed. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Magog fishes better once you know its edges.
The seasonal spread runs -11°C to 19°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid April. The lid tends to go about mid April and return around early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Magog.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Being dammed, it draws down in some seasons and fills in others. Expect 1 km away in from where the car goes. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac a la Truite, 9.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac Magog as something to verify.
