Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a soft SSW wind with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Lyll around the margins and the shelf beyond them. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Look for Lac Lyll in the Outaouais part of Quebec. What surrounds it is lake country bush. Surface area is around 13 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Shoreline comes to about 2.2 km, small enough to learn in a day. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 56 km away. Further out sit Maniwaki (67 km) and Saint-Raphaël (79 km). There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. At Lac Lyll the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Expect Lac Lyll to follow that timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac Belair is 0.9 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Lyll in what we hold.
