Wet weather working through today, with a gentle ripple from the S and the barometer holding steady. Fish at Lac Lunette should hold close to the first drop-off and weed lines. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Laurentides end of Quebec holds Lac Lunette. Elevation runs to 640 metres. It covers about 2 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. Head to Ferme-Neuve, 12 km away, for anything you forgot. Mont-Laurier lies 18 km off, Saint-Boniface another 36 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass among the fish reported. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Work Lac Lunette in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 18°C in July. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. On Lac Lunette the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Sloup is 3.1 km off. Rules at Lac Lunette are worth checking on the day.
