Overcast skies today, with an easy breeze from the S and the barometer holding steady. The water to cover at Lac Lucy is the shallows early and the drop later. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Lucy is a Mauricie water, Quebec side. It lies 327 metres above sea level. At about 14 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 1.7 km of margin, front to back. Weymontachie at 46 km is the nearest place to stop. It is 163 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. Also within reach: Lac Nonepash near enough 1.5 km, Lac Conawingo within 2.6 km, Lac Hyannis near enough 3.2 km, Lac Brochet within 4.2 km and Lac Hola near enough 5.2 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker among the fish reported. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lac Lucy gives up more to patience than to distance.
Seasonal averages run from -17°C in January up to 17°C in July. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. That is the shape of the year on Lac Lucy.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Nonepash, 1.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Ask locally about Lac Lucy if anything is unclear.
