Bands of rain crossing through the day, with barely a breath of wind and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Lise should hold close to the margins and the shelf beyond them. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac Lise. The bank gives way to taiga. With some 29 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. With about 2.5 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. For supplies, Chute-aux-Outardes is 101 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 200 km distant. Neighbouring water: Lac Julie 1.1 km, Lac Os at about 2.2 km, Lac Valier 2.3 km, Lac Carteret at about 3 km and Lac Frederic 4.4 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Work Lac Lise in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The seasonal spread runs -19°C to 16°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid May and starts locking again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. On Lac Lise the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Julie, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Lise for certain.
