Showers crossing the water today, with next to no ripple with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Levesque along shallow cover and weed edges. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Levesque lies in Nord-du-Québec, in Quebec. The bank is 385 metres above sea level. It runs to roughly 16 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Shoreline comes to about 2.7 km, small enough to learn in a day. It is a small entry by Nord-du-Québec standards. Chibougamau sits 23 km from the bank. After that come Mistissini at 49 km and Chapais at 61 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Levesque the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -20°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Anyone fishing Lac Levesque regularly works to that calendar.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Should this one be busy, Lac Lavoie is 1.2 km off. The position on Lac Levesque is worth confirming on the day.
