No direct sun expected today, with a light chop building from the NE with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Lessard is sheltered bays and points. Plan around the stretch from the day. Keep moving until you find them. A cold snap day, so work the warmest water you can find.

You will find Lac Lessard in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. Height above sea level is 128 metres. About 5.13 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. With 22 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It is one of the larger waters we list anywhere in Quebec. The nearest place of any size is Salluit, 60 km away. After that come Puvirnituq at 197 km and Kinngait at 280 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Lessard gives up more to patience than to distance.
Climate normals give 11°C for July and -25°C for January. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Count the season from break-up, usually mid June. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid June and starts locking again about mid October. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Lessard that shapes the whole year.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Should this one be busy, Lacs Ujarasutjuapiliik is 5.5 km off. Nothing on Lac Lessard should be assumed from this page alone.
