Soft grey light all day today, with a soft S wind and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Lac Lessard is sheltered bays and points. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Lessard lies in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Tidal water begins 36 km from here. At some 3.34 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. There is roughly 13 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. On our Côte-Nord list it sits near the top for size. 43 km away sits Betsiamites, the nearest town. After that come Forestville at 44 km and Chute-aux-Outardes at 55 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Lessard responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The range across the year is -16°C to 16°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Plan any trip to Lac Lessard around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Yogi at 2.2 km is the sensible second choice. Treat Lac Lessard as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
