Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a light chop building from the WSW and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Lent should be near the seam between weed and open water. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Lent lies in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, in Quebec. The shore lies 23 km out. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is a small entry by Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean standards. For supplies, Saint-Fulgence is 34 km out. La Baie follows at 40 km, then Saint-Honoré at 45 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. On Lac Lent the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
The range across the year is -18°C to 15°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid May. Ice usually gives way near mid May, and forms again about early November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Lent runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac de l'Omble is 0.5 km distant. Where Lac Lent is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
