Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a light S breeze and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Lemay, work structure within a cast of the bank first. The productive run goes night into morning. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Lemay is an Outaouais water, Quebec side. The bank is 180 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 8 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. The nearest town is Shawville, 14 km away. Gatineau sits 66 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Lemay a short move beats a long cast.
Temperature averages peak at 19°C in July and bottom out at -13°C in January. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly early December. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. It holds true on Lac Lemay more years than not.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac a Lang at 1.3 km is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Lac Lemay if anything is unclear.
