Flat light and a covered sky today, with the water lying quiet and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Lac Leblanc will be around bays that hold the day's warmth. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Leblanc is set in Mauricie, Quebec. It sits at 411 metres above sea level. This is sizeable water at about 1.46 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Some 14 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Few waters listed in Mauricie are bigger. Leblanc at 2.5 km is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Saguenay, 243 km distant. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Read Lac Leblanc for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -17°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. It holds true on Lac Leblanc more years than not.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Lac Bill is 1.9 km off. For Lac Leblanc, the notice at the access point is the final word.
