Low mist over the surface today, with a gentle ripple from the SSE and steady pressure. On Lac Lavoie, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. Biting air and slow fish: small baits, long pauses.

Lac Lavoie lies in Côte-Nord, Quebec. The bank gives way to taiga. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Roughly 1.9 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. Supplies mean a trip to Godefroy, 184 km off. Further out sit Hauterive (203 km) and Chute-aux-Outardes (204 km). The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Species logged across Côte-Nord include logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Work Lac Lavoie in sections rather than trying to cover it.
July runs about 14°C on average, January about -21°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near mid May. Open water usually runs from mid May until about early November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Lavoie.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac des Trois Iles sits 2.2 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Lac Lavoie before loading the car.
