Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with mild air moving in from the S and no real change in pressure. Give the shallows early and the drop later the first hour at Lac Lavigne. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Lavigne sits in Outaouais, out in Quebec. It stands 161 metres above sea level. It runs to roughly 18 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. With about 2.8 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. Fort-Coulonge is the closest place, 7.7 km off. After that come Pembroke at 31 km and Cobden at 33 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Lavigne a short move beats a long cast.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -13°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Plan any trip to Lac Lavigne around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Failing this one, try Lac Bass, 1.2 km away. For Lac Lavigne, the notice at the access point is the final word.
