No direct sun expected today, with a steady SSW wind and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Laurentides is windblown banks where food collects. Save your energy for the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Laurentides lies in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. Elevation runs to 434 metres. At 4 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. Some 34 km away sits Saint-Félicien, the nearest settlement. Saguenay sits 130 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Lac Laurentides light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Plan around that when you fish Lac Laurentides.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. The nearest alternative is Lac Canette, 0.7 km out. Treat access at Lac Laurentides as something to verify.
