Night
You will find Lac Lambert in Laurentides, Quebec. The surroundings are northern bush. Roughly 19 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 3.4 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Ferme-Neuve is the closest town at 80 km. Saint-Boniface follows at 89 km, then Mont-Laurier at 93 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Take Lac Lambert a stretch at a time.
Averages move between -17°C in January and 17°C in July. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Lambert.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. If the gate is shut, Lac East at 0.8 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing on Lac Lambert should be assumed from this page alone.
