Steady rain over the water today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with the glass holding level. On Lac Labrie, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Labrie sits in Côte-Nord, out in Quebec. Everything around it is northern bush. It measures about 20 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. About 1.8 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. The nearest place of any size is Port-Cartier, 21 km away. Then Saint-Alexandre, 22 km, and Sept-Îles, 22 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac Labrie the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan around that when you fish Lac Labrie.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. The nearest alternative is Petit lac Cache, 1.1 km out. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Labrie for certain.
