An even grey lid over the water, with a soft SW wind with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac la Dame. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac la Dame falls in Côte-Nord, part of Quebec. Salt water lies 4.2 km off. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. The town to know is Saint-Alexandre, 40 km out. Beyond it, Port-Cartier at 40 km and Sept-Îles at 78 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. At Lac la Dame light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The warm month here averages 16°C; the cold one sits at -15°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Anyone fishing Lac la Dame regularly works to that calendar.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac de la Maree is 0.6 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac la Dame in what we hold.
