No direct sun expected today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Kwekwesew along reed fringes and open pockets. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Look for Lac Kwekwesew in the Mauricie part of Quebec. Country round the bank runs to spruce and muskeg. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. Weymontachie at 27 km is the nearest place to stop. Saguenay sits 191 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. The county list is broader than any single water. Work Lac Kwekwesew in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about -17°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. At Lac Kwekwesew the season follows that pattern closely.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac Minamao is 0.8 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Kwekwesew in what we hold.
