A grey, even sky over the water, with a soft S wind and no real change in pressure. On Lac Kennedy, work points where shallow meets deep first. Everything points to the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Look for Lac Kennedy in Laurentides, Quebec. It sits in lake country bush. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. Nearest town is Brownsburg-Chatham, 9.1 km off. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 55 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Kennedy gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -12°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around early December. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Time your trip to Lac Kennedy by conditions rather than dates.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Expect 1.2 km away in from where the car goes. There are picnic tables 1.2 km away. Toilets are 1.2 km away, which matters on a long session. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. If the gate is shut, Lac a Kennedy at 1 km is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Lac Kennedy in what we hold.
