A grey, even sky over the water, with light air out of the S with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Lac Kangourou should be near structure within a cast of the bank. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Lac Kangourou is a Côte-Nord water, Quebec side. Elevation runs to 602 metres. With some 16 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. With about 2.8 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Saint-Honoré sits 107 km from here and is the nearest stop. It is 117 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Kangourou that means starting tight and working out.
On the long-term average, July reads 15°C and January reads -19°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid May and starts locking again about early November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Plan any trip to Lac Kangourou around it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Tohu-Bohu at 1.5 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Kangourou, the notice at the access point is the final word.
