Solid cloud cover today, with a gentle ripple from the SSW with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Junot along points where shallow meets deep. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Out in Côte-Nord, Quebec, sits Lac Junot. The surface lies 570 metres up. Around 10.53 sq km of open water: conditions change from one end to the other. The bank runs about 69 km in total, split between open shore and sheltered corners. It ranks high for size among our Côte-Nord listings. Labrador City lies 227 km from the water. Beyond it, Wabush at 233 km and Fermont at 237 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Côte-Nord include logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Lac Junot responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The range across the year is -25°C to 12°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early June. Ice usually gives way near early June, and forms again about late October. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Junot.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Lac Lannes, 8.5 km out. The position on Lac Junot is worth confirming on the day.
