Overcast skies today, with just enough SSW wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Jules are likely to sit near the weed line and any gaps in it. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

You will find Lac Jules in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. Boreal forest runs right down to the water. It covers about 7 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. The edge runs 2.7 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. The nearest town is Saint-Honoré, 75 km away. Saint-Fulgence follows at 80 km, then Saint-Ambroise at 81 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac Jules the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Typical July readings run about 15°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Ice-out usually falls in mid May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Averages suggest open water from about mid May through to roughly early November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Jules runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Access is not recorded for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. The nearest alternative is Lac Pointu, 0.8 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Jules in what we hold.
