Solid cloud cover today, with an easy breeze from the S and pressure going nowhere. On Lac Jeannot, work bays that hold the day's warmth first. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

In Quebec, Lac Jeannot belongs to Lanaudière. Beyond the shoreline you have rolling bush. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Saint-Michel-des-Saints is the closest place, 47 km off. It is 95 km to Trois-Rivières, the nearest city. If this one is busy: Lac Bernard after 0.9 km, Lac Lucette (1.5 km), Lac Fon-Fon after 1.5 km, Lac du Chasseur (1.6 km) and Petit lac du Chasseur after 1.9 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Anyone new to Lac Jeannot should walk it once before setting up.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -15°C at the bottom of winter. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. That is the shape of the year on Lac Jeannot.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Bernard at 0.9 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac Jeannot.
