Rain on and off through the day, with a gentle ripple from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac Jake around the shaded margin through bright spells. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

You will find Lac Jake in Mauricie, Quebec. The land about it is taiga. At about 20 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The full circuit measures close to 2.0 km on foot. Weymontachie at 48 km is the nearest place to stop. After that come Manawan at 52 km and La Tuque at 77 km. Others close at hand: Lac Kilo roughly 0.7 km, Lac Detache within 1.1 km, Lac Tyro roughly 2.2 km, Lac Jury within 2.4 km and Lac de la Luzerne roughly 3.1 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Jake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Jake.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac Kilo is 0.7 km distant. What applies at Lac Jake may have changed since it was mapped.
