A wet system passing over today, with a mirror surface most of the day with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Inuk around points where shallow meets deep. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Lac Inuk in the Outaouais part of Quebec. The surface lies 345 metres up. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Outaouais standards. 24 km away sits Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, the nearest town. Ripon follows at 27 km, then Saint-André-Avellin at 34 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Lac Inuk where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The seasonal spread runs -14°C to 18°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It holds true on Lac Inuk more years than not.
The access position is unclear from public sources. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac de la Truite Arc-en-Ciel sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. Where Lac Inuk is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
