A wet system passing over today, with barely a breath of wind and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Lac Iggo is the calm side of the wind. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Iggo lies in Mauricie, in Quebec. It sits in northern bush. This is a pocket water of some 8 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. 109 km away sits Leblanc, the nearest town. Gatineau sits 258 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Close by you have: Lac Araca within 0.7 km, Lac Savard 1.1 km away, Lac du Metal within 1.4 km, Lac Styx 1.6 km away and Lac Ahtim within 1.7 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. The near bank of Lac Iggo is often the one people ignore.
Averages move between -17°C in January and 16°C in July. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Plan around that when you fish Lac Iggo.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Araca, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lac Iggo carry more weight than any list.
