Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Horus is the first drop-off and weed lines. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

The Nord-du-Québec end of Quebec holds Lac Horus. Land around it is taiga. The water measures roughly 8 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. On size it sits at the modest end of our Nord-du-Québec list. The nearest place of any size is Chibougamau, 58 km away. The big place round here is Saguenay, 240 km distant. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Read Lac Horus before you fish it and the day goes better.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Horus runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Failing this one, try Lac Vaure, 0.6 km away. What applies at Lac Horus may have changed since it was mapped.
