Open sky and sharp air tonight, with flat calm through the day with the barometer flat. Activity on Lac Ho-Ho should centre on any hard bottom among the soft. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Ho-Ho belongs to Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The water sits 491 metres up. The water covers some 19 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The bank runs about 2.1 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. The town to know is Senneterre, 81 km out. Gatineau is the closest city, 288 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Ho-Ho a short move beats a long cast.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -18°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Anyone fishing Lac Ho-Ho regularly works to that calendar.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Orcival, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Ho-Ho in what we hold.
