A grey, even sky over the water, with a gentle ripple from the S with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac Henri around any hard bottom among the soft. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Laurentides, Quebec, is where Lac Henri sits. It lies 510 metres above sea level. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. Start from Rivière-Rouge, 27 km down the road. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 135 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Henri fishes better once you know its edges.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -15°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. At Lac Henri the season follows that pattern closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Failing this one, try Lac Lepine, 0.7 km away. Ask locally about Lac Henri if anything is unclear.
