Overcast skies today, with the surface near flat with a settled glass. The fish at Lac Hebert are likely to sit near structure within a cast of the bank. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Hebert lies within the bounds of Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. It stands 262 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 26 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The full circuit measures close to 4.1 km on foot. Our Nord-du-Québec list holds plenty of bigger water. Nearest place of any size is Matagami, 75 km away. La Sarre is 127 km away, with Macamic at 128 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish among the fish reported. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Treat Lac Hebert as a water to read rather than to cover.
Averages here run 16°C at the top of summer and -19°C at the bottom of winter. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Expect Lac Hebert to follow that timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. If the gate is shut, Lac Pare at 1.6 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Hebert in particular, ask before you travel.
