A closed sky with even light today, with stillness over the whole water and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Head should hold close to the weed line and any gaps in it. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Lac Head sits within Mauricie in Quebec. The land about it is spruce and muskeg. Small at around 8 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Leblanc sits 98 km from the bank. Further out sit Manawan (115 km) and Weymontachie (132 km). Nearby alternatives: Lac Bob about 1.1 km, Lac Lucy within 1.8 km, Riviere Tamarac about 2 km, Lac Lily within 2.7 km and Lac Cot about 2.7 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Public occurrence data for Mauricie names northern pike, brook trout and walleye. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Lac Head repays a walk before the first cast.
The seasonal spread runs -17°C to 16°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. On Lac Head that shapes the whole year.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Failing this one, try Lac Bob, 1.1 km away. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Head for certain.
