Dull, settled light over the water, with barely a breath of wind and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Guy should come off windblown banks where food collects. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Guy sits within Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec. Height above sea level is 435 metres. At about 40 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The whole outline is near 4.2 km, and most of it is walkable. The closest town, Leblanc, is 98 km away. For a city, Gatineau is 296 km off. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lac Guy fishes better once you know its edges.
On the long-term average, July reads 16°C and January reads -18°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. On Lac Guy the same rules apply, with local timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Lac des Tetards at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm before you fish Lac Guy.
