A grey, even sky over the water, with stillness over the whole water and steady pressure. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Lac Guepe. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Guepe is a Lanaudière water, Quebec side. The setting is mixed forest. It measures about 23 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The edge runs 1.8 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 23 km is the nearest place to stop. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 86 km away. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Open biodiversity records for Lanaudière list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Guepe the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The year swings from about -15°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. On Lac Guepe the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is a jetty 1.1 km off, worth knowing on a busy day. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Failing this one, try Lac Brandon, 1.1 km away. Nothing on Lac Guepe should be assumed from this page alone.
