A grey, foggy start today, with a gentle ripple from the S and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Grosso should come off any hard bottom among the soft. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Mauricie in Quebec is where Lac Grosso sits. It stands 542 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 9 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Weymontachie sits 33 km from the bank. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 178 km away. Within a short run: Lac Grand'Shaw 2.2 km away, Lac Carrousel after 3.1 km, Lac Oublie 3.4 km away, Gros lac Bill after 3.8 km and Lac Hayes 3.9 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Grosso the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -17°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Grosso.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Grand'Shaw is 2.2 km off. Confirm access to Lac Grosso locally before you travel.
