An even grey lid over the water, with a faint SW drift and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Grec should come off the calm side of the wind. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Morning
Look for Lac Grec in the Outaouais part of Quebec. Height above sea level is 375 metres. Roughly 14 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Shoreline comes to about 2.5 km, small enough to learn in a day. Deep River is the closest town at 43 km. Chalk River follows at 53 km, then Petawawa at 69 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Grec decides where the fish sit.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -14°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between late April and late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac Grec runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. For a change of water, Lac Dusen is 1.2 km distant. Signs at Lac Grec carry more weight than any list.
