A closed sky with even light today, with light air out of the SW with the barometer flat. Lac Grant should fish best around points where shallow meets deep today. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Set in Côte-Nord, Quebec, this is Lac Grant. The surroundings are lake country bush. Surface area runs to about 6 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. The nearest place of any size is Baie-Comeau, 30 km away. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 260 km away. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. The near bank of Lac Grant is often the one people ignore.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 16°C in July. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Expect Lac Grant to follow that timing.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Lac Caissy, 0.5 km away. What applies at Lac Grant may have changed since it was mapped.
