Overcast skies today, with mild air moving in from the WSW with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Georgette should be near the weed line and any gaps in it. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

The Côte-Nord entry here is Lac Georgette, in Quebec. The bank is 615 metres above sea level. About 3.50 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. At about 17 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. It is among the larger waters listed here for Côte-Nord. The closest town, Maliotenam, is 130 km distant. After that come Sept-Îles at 137 km and Port-Cartier at 171 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Côte-Nord include logperch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Anyone new to Lac Georgette should walk it once before setting up.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 13°C, while January sits near -21°C. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late May. Climate figures give an open season running late May to late October. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. It holds true on Lac Georgette more years than not.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac Caobus, 6.9 km away. Where Lac Georgette is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
