Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a busy ENE wind on the open water and steady pressure. The fish at Lac Garigue are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. The useful hours run the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Cold air keeps the water sluggish; scale everything down.

Look for Lac Garigue in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. The setting is boreal forest. This is sizeable water at about 9.50 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. At about 39 km of edge, most people fish a single area and learn it well. It is among the larger waters listed here for Nord-du-Québec. The closest town, Kuujjuaq, is 102 km distant. Saguenay sits 1095 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Nord-du-Québec: Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Lac Garigue light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July to average close to 12°C, with January the cold end at about -24°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Ice-out usually falls in early June, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Average temperatures cross freezing around early June in spring and again near early November in autumn. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Lac Garigue fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Hamecon sits 4.7 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac Garigue should be assumed from this page alone.
