Lac Fro near Mandeville: Fishing Spots, Seasons and Access

• Overview

  Lac Fro is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. The land about it is mixed forest. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Lanaudière. The nearest place of any size is Mandeville, 24 km away. Trois-Rivières sits 83 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.

• Where to Fish on Lac Fro

  Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Lac Fro to its features, not to its size.
