Heavy overcast holding through the day, with dead-still conditions and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Lac Frizon will be around sheltered bays and points. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Frizon is set in Lanaudière, Quebec. Taiga runs right down to the water. The water measures roughly 8 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Saint-Michel-des-Saints is the closest town at 26 km. Then Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, 41 km, and Rivière-Rouge, 56 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Frizon gives up more to patience than to distance.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -15°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac Frizon runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. If the gate is shut, Lac Lapaille at 1.4 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Frizon in particular, ask before you travel.
