Steady rain over the water today, with stillness over the whole water with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Flassan around any hard bottom among the soft. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec is where Lac Flassan sits. The bank is 410 metres above sea level. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Some 96 km away sits Normandin, the nearest settlement. After that come Leblanc at 98 km and Albanel at 100 km. Water in the same corner: Lac Ipling 1.2 km, Lac de la Depression 1.3 km away, Lac Cinais 1.6 km, Lac de la Portee 1.8 km away and Petit lac Nedde 2.4 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Flassan that means starting tight and working out.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -18°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Lac Flassan runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Public data does not answer the access question here. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac Ipling is 1.2 km off. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Flassan for certain.
