No direct sun expected today, with the water lying quiet and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Farrand should come off shallow cover and weed edges. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Night
You will find Lac Farrand in Outaouais, Quebec. The water sits 193 metres up. Roughly 18 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. A shoreline of some 2.3 km keeps the choices simple. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. For supplies, Ripon is 10 km out. The nearest city of size is Orléans, 38 km away. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Farrand fishes better once you know its edges.
Between January at about -13°C and July at about 19°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter shuts the surface down for months. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Lac Farrand runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Raymond, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the current arrangement for Lac Farrand.
